Venice has been a recurring source of inspiration throughout my work, drawn by the extraordinary relationship between the city, water and changing light.

Long exposure allows me to transform that relationship, softening movement and simplifying the familiar until the city becomes something more atmospheric and contemplative. Architecture remains as a quiet, enduring presence while water and light shift around it.

I am particularly drawn to the quieter edges of Venice — the lagoon, the fishing huts, the Lido and the places where land, water and architecture meet. These are spaces where the recognisable character of Venice can give way to something more abstract: a study of light, movement, atmosphere and place.

Photography is the starting point, but the intention is not simply to record Venice. It is to interpret the experience of being there.
