I am drawn to the quiet spaces where architecture becomes abstract — where light, shadow, structure and emptiness begin to lose their familiar meaning.

These images reduce the building to fragments, lines and planes, allowing the spaces between them to become as important as the forms themselves. By moving in close and changing my viewpoint, I deliberately remove much of the surrounding context, encouraging the architecture to be seen less as a building and more as a study of shape, light and space.

I am interested in the point where something recognisable begins to become ambiguous. A wall becomes a plane, a doorway becomes a shape, and a shadow can become as significant as the structure that creates it. The images are carefully composed to retain a sense of balance and simplicity, while leaving enough uncertainty for the viewer to interpret what they are seeing.

The Space Between is an exploration of simplicity, light and negative space, finding an unexpected sense of stillness within the built environment.
